With a passion for understanding the human mind and its intricate connections to creativity and well-being, I embarked on a journey that led me to establish my own therapy centre known as Sanguine Art Therapy. This endeavor reflects my commitment to providing a safe and nurturing space for individuals seeking transformation, self-discovery, and mental well-being.

Professional Background

Clinical Psychologist S. Aslı Çakır graduated from Bogazici University, Psychological Counselling, and Guidance Department, which she entered in 2016, and completed in 2021, and continued her education with a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Kingston University in London and completed her school. She completed her master’s degree by working with the Cognitive-Behavioural therapy approach. She wrote her dissertation by researching the effects of social media on body image during the Covid-19 period.

While she was studying for her bachelor’s degree at Bogazici University, she did her clinical internship for two years with Handan Süreyya Aysun, a Cynical Psychologist specializing in the field, under Professor Doctor Kemal Sayar. During this internship, she contributed to the formation of a book by conducting wide-ranging research on autism.

During her undergraduate education, she worked as a trainee School Psychological Counsellor in Hisar Schools for a year. At the same time, within the framework of the Bambu Education Platform, she voluntarily conducted meetings with those who are socioeconomically in need to improve their academic and psychological status to support the psychological state of children. During this time, she also conducted group therapy sessions as an intern with elementary and middle school students at Fatih Science and Art center.

During her master’s degree, as part of the Clinical Placement module, which is a requirement of her education, she practiced therapeutic art activities with children in the primary school, supporting their social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development, as a Pyramid Club leader within the scope of the University of West London, accompanied by supervision. She observed the psychological follow-up of the students about their weekly development and gave detailed information to their parents.

During her educational life, she has been entitled to receive a certificate by participating in the Art Therapy Education program at Kadir Has University. In addition, she has been qualified to receive a certificate by entering Pyramid model practitioner training to be able to work with children at UK standards.

In her therapy practice, she works with children, adolescents, and parents through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Art Therapy-based approaches. Art therapy and individual psychotherapy with children, art therapy and individual psychotherapy with adolescents and adults, and psychoeducation and psychological counseling with parents have carried out the work in Turkish and English. She completed the Applied Art Therapy Internship program at French Lape Hospital and continues her professional life as a school psychologist at Sisli Terakki Schools.
