Anxiety

Anxiety is a condition that can occur in people of all ages, but childhood and adolescence are particularly sensitive periods. Children and adolescents often tend to feel anxious or anxious when faced with stressful or uncertain situations. This may be a normal reaction, but in some children or adolescents the anxiety may become more severe and begin to affect their daily lives.

Children may have somatic symptoms such as anxiety symptoms, persistent anxiety, sleep problems, loss of appetite, frequent urination, irritability, moodiness, stomach pain, and headaches. They may also show resistance to normal activities, such as going to school or being with friends.

Anxiety symptoms in adolescents can be similar to those in children. However, it can be seen along with other mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and aggression in adolescents. Adolescent anxiety may also be linked to puberty-related issues such as gender roles and self-esteem.

Anxiety in children and adolescents is a treatable condition. With the support of parents and healthcare professionals, children and adolescents can learn to manage their anxiety and lead normal lives. Treatment options such as psychological counselling, behavioral therapy or medications are available, and which treatment is most appropriate will depend on the individual situation and symptoms.
